The Water Supply in the Kaoma Orphanage needs to be upgraded.
One section of the Orphanage does not have water for showers and general supply to the buildings is limited to outdoor tapstands. In another section, the plumbing has not been upgraded in 25 years and water availability is limited and often cut-off. Another section relies on the water supply from the town which works approx 2 hours per day and is not 100% reliable. Finally, a new income-generating Block Maker facility is being set up at the Orphanage to provide employment and income to the Orphanage. This requires a significant amount of water – in excess of 2,000 litres per day.

Water Tower & Borehole
Following a detailed engineering assessment, the water system will be significantly upgraded to address the problems above. The upgrade will involve the installation of water tanks, solar pump and piping throughout the Orphanage complex.
Funding: We are currently seeking funding for this project – the cost is €17,000.
