This is the 4th phase of a food security intervention that Alan Kerins Projects has supported in the Mongu region. Details of the previous interventions can be found here. The overall aim of the project is to provide a measurable increase in food security within the targeted community and an increased awareness and capacity within the community on issues relating to nutrition, diversification, conservation and income generation.
This project will fund a local farmer’s group – the Malengwa/Kalangu Farmers Association (MKFA) across a range of initiatives over a 3 year period. Issues to be addressed include: crop diversification, achieving a good nutritional balance, storage facilities, water facilities and capacity within the MKFA.
