Cork Friends Trip – Final 2 Days
For the final 2 days of the trip, the local Mongu and Cork construction teams put on a huge push to complete the project. Just 2 days to go for the Cork Friends of Zambia on their 2010 trip. Working closely with Augustin and the local construction team in Mongu, they have made fantastic progress in less than 2 weeks. Cork Friends of Zambia Trip Progress – Days 5 to 10
The Cork Friends of Zambia are doing fantastic work and are ahead of schedule on the Educational Centre and Guest House build. The first group left for home on day 9 with the second group arriving and eager to start work. The lads experienced the highs and lows of Zambian life with the supply of electricity and water cut in almost the entire Mongu region on day 7. Cork Friends of Zambia Trip Progress – Days 1 to 4
The first group from the Cork Friends of Zambia project team arrived in Lusaka last Saturday morning. They were collected by the local project team at the airport by minibus and headed straight for Kaoma – a 5 hour drive – where they visited the project they worked on last year. Science & Home Ec. Lab – Progress
Laying of column blocks Pouring of concrete in all stripe foundations has been completed. Brick-laying of substructure bricks (hydro-form) commenced on the 6th of October, 2010 and we have done fifty percent of the work which will be concluded by the close of business on Tuesday. Oct – 10,000 Blocks Milestone
The new Kaoma Block Maker project is well and truly up and running. Over 10,000 high-quality blocks have already been produced by the Block Maker team. These have been handed over to the construction team who are working on the foundations for the new school classrooms in Kaoma Community School. Additional Images:
