The Cork Friends of Zambia are doing fantastic work and are ahead of schedule on the Educational Centre and Guest House build.
The first group left for home on day 9 with the second group arriving and eager to start work.
The lads experienced the highs and lows of Zambian life with the supply of electricity and water cut in almost the entire Mongu region on day 7. However, thankfully, power was quickly restored and they were able to recommence work.
Since arriving they have been afforded the opportunity to meet with some of the kids from the Cheshire Home and experience the celebration of Independence Day, a day of historical importance to the Zambian people.
Please see links below for an account of the groups experience and some photos of their work to date.
We would like to thank all involved for their continued hard work and dedication.

About this project
The Education Centre in Mongu is generating income for the Cheshire home in Mongu. It is used by local groups for training, workshops and by international groups as their base for immersion and cross-cultural projects. A guesthouse will also be constructed for group accommodation, generating additional income. The centre and guesthouse will create additional employment for locals.
